About The CSS3 Book Launch
Along with PeachPit Publishing, we are proud to announce the launch of two great CSS3 books by two of the Web’s CSS Rockstars:
- The CSS3 Quickstart Guide by Jason Cranford Teague is the perfect reference for using CSS3 in your everyday workflow.
- Stunning CSS3 by Zoe Gillenwater helps you bring the beauty of new CSS3 features to your designs.
Both books are essential to any Web designer’s library. Spend some time with Jason and Zoe as they walk through some of the latest CSS3 techniques and answer your questions about implementing CSS3 now.
You’ll get plenty of advice, inspiration, and maybe even a door prize—we’ll have plenty of books to give away for audience participation!

3:00 - Zoe Gillenwater on the practical benefits of CSS3 and media queries, plus new techniques for backgrounds and borders

4:00 - Goodbyes & Final Announcements
NOTE that all times are in Central Time. (Time zone converter) and the schedule is subject to change. Speaker presentations will be roughly 30 minutes long with an additional 15 minutes for questions and answers. Be sure to stick around—at the end of the launch, we will announce our book winners and give you plenty of time to ask any last-minute questions!

Jason Cranford-TeagueJason Cranford Teague is the Managing Director of UX for Forum One, an interactive agency that helps build a positive future through the creative application of technology. He has been at the forefront of Web design for over 16 years as a designer, writer and speaker. Jason is a prolific writer, with numerous books and articles published on digital media and culture including CSS3 Visual Quickstart, Fluid Web Typography and Speaking in Styles: The Fundamentals of CSS for Web Designers. He is also a semi-regular columnist for Webdesigner Depot and GeekDad. |

Zoe GillenwaterZoe Mickley Gillenwater is a web designer, developer and consultant. In addition to Stunning CSS3, she wrote Flexible Web Design: Creating Liquid and Elastic Layouts with CSS, as well as the video training title Web Accessibility Principles for lynda.com. Zoe is currently a member of the Web Standards Project (WaSP) Adobe Task Force and was previously a moderator of the popular css-discuss mailing list. How Does an Online Book Launch Work?
Once you are registered, you will receive a follow-up email to confirm your reservation. Later on, as the event draws near, you will receive a more detailed reminder message, with the full schedule and other helpful information.
On the day of the event, you will receive an email invitation about 45 minutes before everything starts. Click on the enclosed link to sign in and enter the virtual meeting space. Once you are signed in, you’ll be able to see and hear the presentations as they happen, ask questions as needed and chat with the other attendees if you like!
Technical Specifications: to attend The Book Launch, you will need a modern web browser (Firefox 1.5, IE 6 & Safari 2 or newer, for example) and a recent version of the Adobe Flash Player.
